    Foundation
    The Field Model of Intervention (FMI) is a foundational, knowledge-based model of intervention authored by Jane Eigner Mintz. It is also an effective strategy for working with derailed family systems. FMI specifically targets the clinical underpinnings of the complex addiction and behavioral health client and their families and is designed to help professionals increase their effectiveness in working with clinically acute and reactive populations.
     
    Step 1: Module One - Online Lecutre Series
     
    These online lectures are taught by leading interventionist Jane Eigner Mintz. They will take you on a comprehensive journey exploring and teaching you the comptencies required to carry out an intevention from conception to follow-through. You will begin by learning the fundamentals of interventions. What is an intervention? What steps typically occur during an intervention? What can you expect to see as you begin conducting them? Next, you will learn how to assess clients and develop an intervention plan. What clinical assessment techniques can be useful for my clients? Who else may I need to get involved in the intervention? What intervention procedures will be effective for my clients? Finally, you will learn to actually implement an intervetion. Not to mention, you will earn 7 NAADAC-Approved CEU's just from watching the lectures an passing the short examination afterwards.
     
    Step 2: Module Two - FMI LIVE! Advanced Skills Training
     
    Learn directly from the best in the business. Module Two is a two and a half day seminar where you will learn directly from Jane Eigner Mintz and her expert staff. This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the interventionist community and learn from leading experts in the company of others just like yourself who are eager to expand their knowledge and learn about clinical intervention. You will be exposed to real cases and take an in depth look into the core competencies of the Field Model of Intervention. To make it easy for you, your purchase of the Online Lecture Series will count as your deposit for the LIVE! Advanced Skills Training. Your seat will already be reserved from completing step 1. All you need to do is make sure you complete the payment at least two weeks before the next scheduled training, and you can do that online as well. Oh, and did we mention the trainings are held the Milestones Ranch in beautiful Malibu, California? Completing the training will also add another 21 CEU's to your total, bringing you to 28 just from completing steps 1 and 2.
     
    Step 3: Clinical Supervision

    What Else?
     
    The FMI trainings encompass diverse areas of study and focus heavily on assessment, covert/co-dependent family systems, family alignment strategies, addiction intervention case development, planning and execution, case management, treatment planning and placements, and crisis intervention techniques. Utilizing case studies and interactive role play, students will learn valuable techniques and insights they can call upon to help them stage life-saving interventions or, at minimum, to use their acquired knowledge about intervention-based strategies to increase their effectiveness when working with complex individuals and their families.


     
    The various clinical populations that will be addressed in both the online lectures and the advanced live training include, but are not limited to: those struggling with poly-substance addictions, those with eating/mood/personality disorders, and those presenting with acute psychiatric symptomology.
     
    By completing the full FMI trainings, students will learn how to build successful intervention practices or to use the learned intervention techniques to expand their scope of services and marketability within their respective fields.
